Taking Some Time Off
05/26/08 09:57 PM
I don't really want to make this post, but I find
myself in between a rock and a hard place. For personal
reasons, I'm shutting the sales end down for now. I'll
be back with vigor soon, no worries on that. It's also
a slow time of the year, one I generally spend fishing
and such, so it's not like we're missing anything,
really!
If you had a purchase planned, I apologize, if you need some opinions on where to get stuff, feel free to contact me, I can point you in the right direction.
As far as everything else, I still have a few things I have to finish, and will post new pics soon, once I am completely done, so at least there is that.

I'm Still Around!
05/04/08 09:56 PM
Been quiet lately around here, I've been doing several
projects in the background, pics for those soon,
including a few reels! I got done with the Regionals,
and had such a terrible showing I'm not even going to
say! I've taken a step back and decided to fish a
little less, ride my motorcycle a little more, and make
my fishing trips less of a 'job'. My thought is that
I'll try to make the best out of the time I do go, and
be able to focus more.
Still working on the Tackle Tour crank, one of the editors is giving me his sage advice along the way, so hopefully the next week will bring an announcement. Folks that know where to look can find pictures of almost all of the trial baits, that's as much hint as I can give!
I did break an Airrus rod at the Regional, the shakey head on it attached itself to my shirt when I was sitting down, and it snapped in two places when I got up! I am going to replace that a little earlier than I thought I would, I do not know what happened, I used to love my Airrus rods, but lately they all seem to have some sort of quirk that bugs me. I'm going to go with the Dobyns 682C, which is actually made for finesse fishing, as opposed to trying to make the Co-Matrix work. I'm also not very happy with the Spectra AFT I am using for Spinnerbaits, I like the action of the rod, hate the handle, so I am going to replace it with a St. Croix Legend Tournament TBC63MF Sniper Spinnerbait rod. I'm still going to need a bit larger spinnerbait setup, but this will do for now, even though it's getting a bit late in the year for that sort of thing, at least where/how I fish! I'm happy with the Revo STX for spinnerbaits, and am using a Scorpion MG for the shakey head, but thinking of letting that do dropshot duty, and trying out an Alphas, Pixy, Sol, or even a Presso. Decisions, decisions!

Daiwa BBS Completed and Tackle Tour Announcement!
04/11/08 10:45 PM
Rodney sent me pictures of the Daiwa BBS I repainted
for him. I had not seen the reel put back together, as
D.R. handles that for me. This thing looks very, very
nice all put together! Thanks for the pics, Rodney!
I've added some below, as well as put a few in the
Gallery.
In other news, Tackle Tour has updated their forum to new software, and I have been asked to create a special crankbait in celebration of the new forum! I can't tell you how flattered I am. The Tackle Tour crew needed to move a little more quickly to upgrade the software than it's taking me to produce a very special crank, but an announcement has been made by Cal. Looks like it's time for me to get back in 'the lab'
I'll have pics soon...
